SHIFT LEADER
The Shift Leader reports to the Production Manager. The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate the production staff’s activities to guarantee production continuity and product quality and hygiene, acting in accordance with company standards and procedures.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supervises, coordinates and supports Machine and Packing Operators, managing priorities, eliminating bottlenecks and training production staff on correct executions of their tasks
- Participates in technical operations (e.g. color changes, mold changes; blade, equipment and line cleaning; assisting in line set-up), performs small repairs and ordinary maintenance
- Makes immediate decisions on urgent production line issues (stoppage, technical interventions, etc.) prioritizing staff safety, product quality and production continuity
- Gives clearance to start production at machine start up and after changeovers or major maintenance in collaboration with the Quality Manager
- Ensures immediate and accurate communication to interested departments on relevant production issues, timely reporting breakdowns and failures
- Ensures the correct execution of the quality control plan in production and performs random product controls (e.g. visual controls, weight verifications, etc.)
- Collaborates to investigate causes and implement corrective actions (specific quality controls, sorting activities, processing of defected bottles in the warehouse, etc.)
- Supervises the completion of shift paper work for precise and timely traceability of production batches
- Supervises the production area ensuring staff and workplace compliance to health, safety and hygiene standards
- Participates in team activities to reduce waste, improve productivity and quality
-To commit with quality standards and achieve quality objectives.
-Maintaining the quality of the product according to the required specifications
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM and/or SBM and/or IM)
- Good applied knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and/or electronic systems
- Ability to operate manual and electric forklifts
- Good applied knowledge of measuring instruments and techniques
- Good applied knowledge of WCM standards
- Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment rules and practices
Personal Skills:
